Web browsers and native apps

Web browsers are not operating systems or application development environments. They’re document viewers. The effort to make them into something more than that has been one of the biggest wrong turns in the history of computing.

We have amazing native apps on Apple platforms. Vastly superior to any "web-app" effort. It's not an app, it's an interactive document.

Both developers and users benefit hugely from instant access to software. No installation, no maintenance, free/viral distribution. Hosting costs scale with use. So kids can write cool apps in their basements and Google can support billions of users for free

Sorry pal. I struggle every day with the bugs and limitations of OS services and apps in browsers. I respect your opinion, and I wish we could get coffee and hash it out. Wishing for the end of the pandemic!
